Founded in 2009, this organization’s name is derived from the word “prevent”.
Our objective is to select several causes that support our mission and formulate interventions that can be addressed through the foundation. Interventions such as charitable acts, research, and workshops will assist us in making our vision a reality.
Our first campaign is to donate one hundred cooked turkeys to needy families in the Chicago metropolitan area on Thanksgiving morning. Stony Gardens, a retail supplier of fully-cooked turkeys, will donate the labor and the facility for food preparation. Families will have the option to choose from Herb & Garlic, Cajun, and Caribbean Jerk turkeys.
The families receiving the turkeys will be identified with the assistance of 8th Ward Alderman Michelle Harris and various others including church organizations. Over 500 people can be fed with 100 turkeys. In this time of economic recession and job loss, this donation will serve as a means to uplift the spirits of the recipients and help them to look forward to better times.
Please assist us in funding this charitable cause by making a tax deductible contribution of $5.00 or more.
